 Report on Vasantika Ignite 2026: Annual Cultural Students’ Union Fest of Shyam Lal College (Evening)

 

The Annual Cultural Fest “Vasantika Ignite 2026 “was successfully organised by the Students’ Union of Shyam Lal College (Evening) on 17th and 18th April 2026 at the college hockey ground from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. witnessing vibrant participation, enthusiastic audiences and a lively cultural atmosphere. The event aimed to celebrate creativity, diversity and student talent, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

 

Event Highlights

Day 1: 17th April, 2026

The first day commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony marked by the traditional lamp lighting. The ceremony was graced by the respected Principal, Professor Nachiketa Singh along with the Advisory Committee Convener, Professor Amit Singh, committee members, students’ union office bearers and the faculty members. This auspicious beginning set a positive tone for the event. It was followed by an engaging lineup of performances featuring students from the college as well as other institutions reflecting a rich blend of talent, enthusiasm and artistic expression. However, the program faced an unexpected interruption due to heavy rainfall which forced the event to halt midway. Despite this challenge the organising team demonstrated efficiency and adaptability by promptly rescheduling major performances for the second day ensuring continuity and success.

Day 2: 18th April, 2026

The second day celebration began at 4:00 p.m. with renewed energy and excitement. The stage came alive with a variety of performances including music, dance and other cultural acts presented by students. The presence of esteemed Chief Guest, DCP Shahdara, Shri Rajendra Prasad Meena and Guest of Honour, S.H.O. Shahdara, Mr. Kanhaiya Lal Yadav added prestige to the occasion. The audience response was highly enthusiastic contributing to a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. One of the major highlights of the evening was the soulful performance by “Tanay Shandilya” and his band “Bandish Live”, which created a mesmerising Sufi ambiance. This was followed by an electrifying performance by “Ndee Kundu”, a popular Haryanvi singer, lyricist and composer whose energetic interaction and music captivated the audience. A significant moment of the event was the felicitation ceremony where the respected Principal, Professor Nachiketa Singh along with the Students’ Union President Aayushi and other dignitaries honoured the artists with mementos. This marked a proud and celebratory conclusion to the performances. The event witnessed an impressive footfall of approximately 2,000 participants including students, volunteers and attendees. The scale of participation reflected the popularity and success of the fest.

The Union Advisory Committee and the Union Disciplinary Committee are acknowledged for their supervision and assistance throughout the event. The dedication and hard work of the Students’ Union members, volunteers and organising teams played a crucial role in managing different aspects efficiently.

The Students’ Union Cultural Fest Vasantika Ignite turned out to be a spectacular success bringing together energy, talent and unforgettable moments. With electrifying performances by Ndee Kundu and Tanay Shandilya, the atmosphere became vibrant and exhilarating. The fest provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their talents, build confidence and collaborate beyond academics in an inclusive and engaging environment.
