Brief Description (in about 100 words):
The Manthan Debating Society successfully organized its Speech Competition on 6th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The event began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, invoking Goddess Saraswati to bless the occasion with wisdom, knowledge, and positivity.
Our esteemed Principal, Prof. Nachiketa Singh Sir, was warmly welcomed by the Convenor, Prof. Sarita, who presented a token of gratitude. The Principal then shared inspiring words that motivated participants and set an enthusiastic tone for the competition.
Following the Principal’s address, the Convenor, Prof. Sarita, spoke to the participants, encouraging them and sharing insights about the importance of critical thinking and public speaking.
The ceremony and event proceedings were anchored by Sunny Kumar Singh (B.A. Prog. 3rd Year) and Kanika Sonkar (B.Com. (Hons.) 3rd Year), whose confident and engaging compering added energy and elegance to the programme. The speeches were evaluated by our distinguished judges, Prof. Sunita Saxena (Hindi Department) and Dr. Sarika Tyagi (English Department). Prof. Sunita was welcomed by Dr. Manu Umesh, and Dr. Sarika was welcomed by Dr. Karan Gupta, adding a formal and respectful start to their participation. Both judges were presented tokens of gratitude as a mark of appreciation.
The competition, themed “Man vs Machine: Who Will Lead the Future Workforce?”, featured participants who delivered well-researched and confident speeches, presenting diverse perspectives on the topic. While many participants expressed strong arguments in favor of “Man,” several also highlighted the growing influence and capabilities of machines, resulting in a well-balanced and engaging debate.
The winners were announced as follows:
- First Prize: Harsh Gupta, BA H Eco, 2nd Year – Cash Prize + Trophy
- Second Prize: Ayushman Parasher, BA Prog, 1st Year – Cash Prize + Trophy
- Third Prize: Anushka Gupta, B Com Prog, 1st Year – Cash Prize + Trophy

All participants were lauded for their creativity, critical thinking, and eloquence. The competition not only highlighted outstanding public speaking talent but also encouraged intellectual engagement, thoughtful discussion, and healthy debate, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
