The Department of Computer Science, Shyam Lal College (Evening), organized its Orientation Programme 2025 for first-year students on 11th September 2025. Our Hon’ble Principal, Prof. Nachiketa Singh, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his motivating address, Prof. Singh advised the students to remain disciplined and focused, while reminding them to always reach out to their teachers for guidance and support.
The Guest of Honour, Ms. Bharti, Teacher-in-Charge of the Department of Mathematics and member of the NEP Helpdesk, introduced students to the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) under the NEP 2020. She emphasized its multidisciplinary structure, flexibility, and opportunities for holistic development.
The Teacher-in-Charge, Dr. Karan Gupta, explained the departmental structure through the B.A. Programme (Major) and General Electives (GE). He also highlighted career prospects in data analytics, programming, and interdisciplinary fields, encouraging students to build strong foundations and engage actively in learning opportunities.
The outgoing office bearers of Inspiriti, the Computer Science Society, shared their experiences of organizing seminars, workshops, and cultural events, inspiring the freshers to participate actively in future activities.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sonia Singh, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, Guest of Honour, faculty, and students, marking the programme as a memorable beginning for the new batch.
