The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Shyam Lal College (Evening), in partnership with the Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT), successfully organized an orientation session on Tuesday 11th November 2025 at 3:30 PM, in the college seminar hall, aimed at familiarizing students with the core NSS objectives of community service, leadership, and nation-building, alongside providing insight into the Salaam Baalak Trust’s impactful work for underprivileged children in Delhi. The program began with motivating addresses from College Principal Prof. Nachiketa Singh and NSS Coordinator Sh. Gajender, both of whom encouraged sincere dedication to social upliftment. The Chief Guest, Ms. Neelu Ahamad from SBT, delivered an inspiring address detailing the Trust’s social initiatives and urging students to become agents of change through compassion and service, deeply moving the participating faculty, NSS office bearers, and volunteers. The session concluded with an engaging interactive discussion on future collaboration and volunteering prospects, followed by a Vote of Thanks by Sh. Gajender, affirming the event’s success in strengthening students’ social responsibility and promising a meaningful and impactful partnership between NSS and SBT in the realm of social service.
