Satya, Ahimsa, Seva – Our Path to a Better World

The Gandhi Study Circle of Shyam Lal College Evening is dedicated to promoting the timeless ideals of Mahatma Gandhi—truth (Satya), non-violence (Ahimsa), self-reliance (Swadeshi), and welfare of all (Sarvodaya). It provides a platform for students and faculty to engage in discussions, lectures, cultural programmes, and community service inspired by Gandhian philosophy.

The Circle aims to create awareness about Gandhiji’s life and relevance in contemporary society, encourage critical thinking, and foster values of peace, harmony, and social responsibility. Activities include observing important days such as Gandhi Jayanti and Martyrs’ Day, organising talks by eminent scholars, conducting reading sessions on Gandhiji’s works, and undertaking service and eco-friendly initiatives.

Membership is open to all students and faculty committed to Gandhian values. Guided by its motto, the Circle strives to inspire purposeful living and responsible citizenship.
