Environmental Stewardship at DU

As part of the nationwide campaign “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम “. to navigate the local climate change, enhance regional biodiversity, and educate students on practical environmental stewardship.

Students of the Shyam Lal College Evening, actively participated in the plantation drive. As part of the nationwide campaign to enhance green cover and promote environmental sustainability, a large-scale tree plantation initiative launched under the guidance of the Honourable Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi.
In furtherance of this initiative, the University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Forest Department, Government of NCT Delhi, organised a tree plantation drive at Kamla Nehru Ridge at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.
