Awards and Scholorships

Academic Prizes are awarded by the College at the annual function to the students based on their results in the annual examination. In addition to this, the following memorial cash prizes are also awarded:
  1. Late Smt. Rani Devi Upadhyaya and Late Shri. Jagdish Prasad Upadhyaya Memorial Prize: A prize of Rs.1100/- has been instituted by Prof. Archna Upadhyaya, in loving memory of her revered mother Smt. Rani Devi Upadhyaya and her father, Shri Jagdish Prasad Upadhyaya. These awards have been instituted to recognize and encourage academic excellence among the students. Beginning the Academic Year (2024-25), the Smt. Rani Devi Upadhyay Memorial Prize will be awarded to the Best Female Student, while the Shri Jagdish Prasad Upadhyaya Memorial Prize will be awarded to the Best Male Student of the College.
  2. Late Shri Balraj Verma Memorial Prize: A prize of Rs.2100/- has been instituted by Dr. Manu Umesh in loving memory of his grandfather, the late Shri Balraj verma. This prize has been instituted to honour of Shri Verma’s legacy of wisdom, integrity and commitment to education and to encourage students to strive for academic excellence. Beginning the Academic Year (2024-25), this prize is given to the student who received the Student of the Year award – recognizing exceptional academic achievement, leadership qualities, and all-round contribution to the College community.
  3. Shri Sunder Lal Rohatgi & Smt. Roopwati Rohatgi Memorial Prizes: Three prizes of Rs.250/- each to be awarded annually to the toppers of final year students of B.Com.(H), B.Com and B.A. Programme. These prizes were instituted by Late Sh. B.B. Rohatgi in the fond memory of his parents.
  4. Km. Kanka Gupta Memorial Prizes: The prizes are of the value of Rs.500/- given to the students securing the highest marks in B.Com (H) I and II year examinations. These prizes are instituted by Dr. R.L. Gupta of the Department of Commerce, in the loving memory of his daughter, Km. Kanika Gupta.
  5. Vice Chancellor’s Financial Assistance: This Financial Assistance will be awarded to those students whose family income from all courses is less than I Lakh per annum and have APL & BPL valid ration cards issued from a competent authority.
  6. Shyam Lal Gupta Memorial Prize: A prize of Rs.11,000/- has been instituted by Shyam Lal Charitable Trust in the memory of the late Padma Shree Shayam Lal Gupta, the Founder of the College. This prize is given to the student who secures the highest percentage of marks in the First/Second year of any course.
  7. Other Delhi University Awards & Financial Assistance: There are many Awards / Financial Assistance / Scholarship schemes which are declared by the University from time to time. Students are advised to see the Notice Board for details.
  8. Sports Prizes: Sports Prizes are awarded to the outstanding sports persons every year subject to the attainment of the minimum standards laid down for the purpose.
