The Ambedkar Study Circle Inauguration Programme was held on November 26, 2024, at Shyam Lal College (Evening), University of Delhi, to commemorate Constitution Day and celebrate Ambedkar’s contributions to the Indian Constitution.

 

 

– Inaugural Address: Dr. Manoj Kumar, Convenor of the event, introduced the Ambedkar Study Circle, its objectives, and upcoming activities.

– Welcome Address: Principal, Prof. Nachiketa Singh emphasized Ambedkar’s relevance in contemporary times, highlighting his focus on education, equality, and fraternity.

– Prof. Archana Upadhyay (Department of Hindi, SLCe) discussed Ambedkar ‘s contribution for the empowerment of women, crediting Ambedkar’s ideas for awakening women’s consciousness.

– Chief Guest Address: Prof. Durgesh Nandini (Department of Public Administration, IGNOU) delivered a lecture on Celebrating Ambedkar’s Contributions to the Indian Constitution: Significance and Relevance in Contemporary Times . Prof. Durgesh stressed on the importance of understanding and implementing the Constitution, calling for an awareness campaign on constitutional rights. Prof. Durgesh also throw some lights on Ambedkar ‘s contribution to protect the environment.

– Vote of Thanks: Prof. Kumar Prashant (Department of Political Science) encouraged constant awareness of constitutional rights, beyond the context of Constitution Day.

 

 

The programme was attended by a large number of teachers, students, and members of the Ambedkar Study Circle. The event successfully highlighted Ambedkar’s contributions to the Indian Constitution and emphasized the importance of his ideas in contemporary times.
