Inviting students to the ELLA Society’s Inter-College Poetry Recitation Competition 
On World Poetry Day, 21st March 2025, the ELLA English Language and Literary Association, Department of English, Shyam Lal College Evening, University of Delhi, is organizing an Inter-College Poetry Recitation Competition on the theme “Hope: The Beacon Within.”
This event aims to celebrate the power of poetry in inspiring optimism and resilience, symbolizing the blossoming of hope, much like the rejuvenation of spring. We invite participants to recite poems that capture the essence of hope in all its forms—whether it’s the quiet promise of new beginnings, the strength in adversity, or the beauty found in the simplest moments of growth.

Venue: Seminar Hall, Shyam Lal College (Evening)
Time: 3:30pm onwards

1. Eligibility: Open to all students of the University of Delhi
2. Language: Only Poems in English are allowed.
3. Theme: Participants are supposed to present their poem on theme “Hope: The Beacon Within”
4. Poem Selection: Participants will recite an original poem written by them. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
5. Time Limit: Each participant gets 3-5 minutes. Exceeding the limit will lead to a point deduction.
6. Disqualification: Participants may be disqualified for:
Exceeding the time limit.
Using offensive language.
Failing to follow event guidelines.
