North East Cell at Shyam Lal College (Evening)

The North East Cell at Shyam Lal College (Evening) looks after the welfare of students from Northeast India. It addresses the concerns and grievances faced by the students on day to day basis. It takes steps to help students to perform better in their academic and in extra-curricular activities of the college.

The cell is a platform for students from Northeast and other parts of the country to interact and understand each other better. Students are encouraged to participate and take pro-active parts in various activities of the college. Cultural programmes are organized from time to time to show case the rich and diverse ethnic and cultural plurality of the region.

The cell provides guidance and counseling to students; like choosing subject combinations in General Electives, Skill Enhancement Course and Value Addition Course. The cell also helped those students who are facing problems in coping up the challenge of the college life so as to achieve good academic outcomes.

Our Principal Prof. Nachiketa Singh provided both guidance and support to the North East Cell. In the History of Shyam Lal Collge (Evening), for the first time, with the support of our respected Principal the North East Cell officially got recognized and became full pledged part of the Staff Council 2025. This encourages and enables the Cell to grow leaps and bounds and will help cater to the needs of the students from the North East, so as to become a responsible citizen of our society and of the country at large. Besides, the Cell will organize culture programmes and events that which will be beneficial for the Northeast students and for the entire college.
