4th Year Orientation
Orientation Session on 4th Year NEP–UGCF Successfully Conducted
Shyam Lal College (Evening), University of Delhi, successfully organized an Orientation Session on the 4th Year under NEP–UGCF on 16 April 2026 at the Room No 20. The session aimed to provide clarity and guidance to students regarding the structure, opportunities, and academic pathways under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF).
The event commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Karan Gupta, who extended greetings to the esteemed faculty members and students, and introduced the speaker for the session, Dr. Bharti, NEP Nodal Officer of the college.
The session was conducted by Dr. Bharti, who elaborated on the key features of the 4th year, including academic tracks such as Research (Dissertation), Academic Project, and Entrepreneurship. The discussion covered semester-wise progression, assessment patterns, and emphasized the importance of Research Methodology for students opting for the four-year programme.
Students were also guided on the requirements of Major and Minor disciplines, along with evaluation criteria such as project work, scholarly outputs, and viva voce. The session focused on enabling students to make informed academic choices aligned with their interests and future aspirations.
The orientation witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. It concluded with an interactive session during which queries related to academic pathways, research opportunities, and career prospects were addressed comprehensively.
The event proved to be highly informative and beneficial in preparing students for the next phase of their academic journey.
