    Departmental Activities

    Departmental activities To aid the overall development of its students, the department has been organising various events
      • Department of Computer Science organized a Career Counseling Session on April 18, 2015. The representatives from Corporate briefed the students about the current – IT market scenario and provided guidelines for successful placement.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science organised a Career Orientation Program for its students on 1st October 2015.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science conducted a full day PC assembly and troubleshooting Workshop in collaboration with Jetking on 15th October 2015.
     
      • Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Economics organized a Workshop on SPSS for faculty members.
     
      • On 21st March 2017, the Department of Computer Science successfully organized a Workshop for its students on the topic of “Operating System and Troubleshooting”. The Workshop was conducted by a team of professionals from Jetking. The student was shown the basics of the Operating System. Also, they were shown a Hands-on Approach on how to troubleshoot different types of issues and problems that could arise in an Operating System.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science organized a Talk on the topic of “e-Waste Management” for its students on 11th April 2017 successfully. The talk was delivered by Mr Ramesh Kumar, who is Assistant Professor in Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. The focus of the talk was to spread awareness about “e-Waste Management” among the students. The speaker explained to the students the concept of e-Waste, its perils and the process to safely tackle it.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science organized a Virtual Lecture on 24th April 2017. The topic of the virtual lecture was “Cloud Computing”. The speaker of the virtual lecture was Mr. Satish Kumar, who is a Research Scholar from the University of Birmingham. The objective of the lecture was to enlighten the students about cloud computing and its applications in various fields. The speaker explained the concept of Cloud Computing to the students. He then delved into its various application and the various career opportunities that it provides.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with IQAC, successfully organized a One Day Seminar on 11th August 2017 titled “Latest Trends & Technologies in the Field of Computer Science”. The Chief Guest of the Seminar was Dr. Aruna Jain from Bharati College, University of Delhi. Dr. Aruna Jain is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science in the college. Firstly, the Chief Guest was welcomed by the Teacher-in-charge, Department of Computer Science, Mrs. Bharti Kumar. It was followed by the Lighting of Lamp. The Chief Guest then shared a few words with all those present. The seminar consisted of three technical sessions with each session consisting of two papers. The seminar ended with a Vote of Thanks to Principal Sir, Department of Computer Science, IQAC, other faculty members, listeners and all those who helped in making this seminar a success.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science organized a Talk titled “SMAC (Social, Mobile, Analytics & Cloud)” on 06th April 2018 for its students. A team of professionals from Jetking delivered the talk. The purpose of the talk was to make the students aware of various aspects of social media, smartphones, analytics & Cloud and the use of these in their career prospects.
     
      • On 11th April 2018, the Department of Computer Science organized a Talk on the topic of “IoT (Internet of Things)” for its students to succeed. A team of professionals from Jetking delivered the talk. The purpose of the talk was to enlighten the students about the various advantages and the benefits that IoT offer in their daily life.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science successfully organized a Workshop for its students on the topic of “Exploring Ubuntu” on 11th August 2018. The Workshop was presided over by Mr. Ravi Ranjan who is Undersecretary, Cabinet Secretariat. The Workshop began with a presentation with the intent to familiarize the students with the Ubuntu Operating System. It was followed by Q & A session. The final session was a Hands-on Session that gave the students a hands-on experience on how to use various features of the Ubuntu Operating System.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science organized a Talk on the topic of “Career Opportunities in Emerging Web Technologies” on 9th March 2019. The focus of the talk was to provide a new perspective to the students concerning the availability of various carrier opportunities in emerging web technologies. The talk was delivered by Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Mint Logix Inc. The speaker explained the opportunities that are available to a fresh graduate in various fields including social media.
     
      • A Workshop was organized by the Department of Computer Science on 18th April 2019 titled “Discerning Networks”. The Workshop was organized in collaboration with Jetking, who conducted the Workshop. The Workshop focused on enlightening the students about the structure of the network. In addition to this, the students were also made aware of the cyber security component of the network.
     
      • The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with IQAC, organised a One Day Seminar on 21st August 2019. The seminar was titled, “Contemporary Developments in Internet” and was focused on delving into the advancements in the Internet. Mr. Nagendra Duhan, Assistant Professor, Bhagini Nivedita College, University of Delhi graced the occasion by consenting to be the Chief Guest. The seminar was inaugurated by the chief guest. The chief guest addressed the audience underlining the importance and relevance of the Internet in our everyday life. The Inauguration session was also attended by Dr. Aditya Tripathi, Convenor, IQAC. This was followed by the two Technical Sessions, namely, Harnessing Web and Web Evolution, where papers were presented by the authors. The seminar ended with the Valedictory Session which also included a Vote of Thanks.
     
      • On 19th February 2020, a Talk was organized by the Department of Computer Science on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence”. The speaker of the talk was Dr. Vinita Jindal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi. The talk focussed on enlightening the students about the field of Artificial Intelligence and how it is becoming a part of our life.
     
      • A Webinar was organised on 18th September 2020, Friday, at 6:15 pm, in Online Mode, on the topic “Career Avenue Options with Computer Science”. The speaker of the Webinar was Mr. Satish Kumar, who is a Research Scholar from the University of Birmingham. He told the students about the various carrier opportunities available to them.
     
      • A Webinar was organised, in collaboration with IQAC of the college, on 27th February 2021, Saturday, at 3:30 pm, in Online Mode, on the topic “Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing: Perspective & Dimensions”. The talk was delivered by Dr. Indranath Chatterjee, Visiting Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, Tongmyong University, Busan, South Korea. The webinar focussed on how our Natural Language is processed by AI.
     
      • A Webinar was organised, in collaboration with IQAC of the college, on 22nd March 2021, Monday, at 5:30 pm, in Online Mode, on the topic “ICT in Food and Beverage Industries”. The speaker of the Webinar was Mr. Kumar Rahul, Assistant Professor, NIFTEM. The webinar delved into the use of ICT in the field of Food Processing.
